A Walk in the Rain (Connecting with Water)

Our connection with the elements (earth, air, fire and water) is one of the things that comes with a witchcraft practice. But you don’t have to be standing in a ritual circle in order to it. Why not take five minutes to renew that connection in between magical workings? Water is probably the easiest element to connect to. Here are some simple ways to do it:Take a walk in the rain. Concentrate on how the rain sounds and feels. If you are comfortable doing so, leave the hat or the umbrella at home,and let the rain fall on your face. Or sit by running water - a stream, or river, or the ocean. Put your hands or feet in the water. Drink some water mindfully.

I would go as far, if not too cold and of course safe, as to walking in the sea, stream or river. Whenever visit the coast (whereI feel so at home) I love to take off my shoes, feel the sand moving under my feet (earth) and the cool flow of the sea moving over my feet and legs. It’s a very spiritual experience. With regards to rain, being out in a storm (again being mindful of safety) is incredibly powerful as well as this wonderful connection to water.

We have now entered into the fourth quarter, before we reach the new moon this is a good time to rid yourself of unwanted things in your life such as bad habits or bringing things to and end. We we reach the next New Moon, we shall be entering the First quarter and so this tide will change when we start thinking of things we wish to grow, build and create. So keep this fourth quarter in mind and how you wish to work any spells over the next 7 days or so.
