A Little Magic for Your House Plants

Though technically not magic this is still magical as it’s nature working as one, as it
were. And those of us who are Kitchen, Green or Hedge Witches (though I see
myself as all, or simply just a Witch), this is the kind of thing we would think of as it
is working with nature in a natural way. And what is this? Water! Not just any old
water, but one full of wonderful nutrients your house plants will thrive on.

Simply save your UNSALTED potato water and the water from pasta
(again this must be unsalted and no oil). Allow it too cool and water your house plants.
They will love it. We have a Poinsettia (tall plant back centre in picture) we've had we've 2 years now. We thought we were going to lose it around September. Then I started to
water it with this magical water. Even though it doesn't look like a Poinsettia now, it has
been putting out loads of new growth and it’s leaves are succulent and green. Our
Peace Lilly’s will need to be re-potted as they've grown so much. So forget that shop
bought food and feed your house plants with Mother Natures own!

Enjoy and have a blessed and loved week )O(

Chill Out

We live in a complicated world, where people and events are often aggravating, frustrating, and downright unpleasant. The television brings us graphic scenes of bad news, the people we share our lives with can drive us crazy, and sometimes the universe itself seems like it is out to get us. This can get us “hot under the collar” and once you are heated up,it can be difficult to cool back down. But all the evidence shows that this kind of constant stress is bad for us, physically, mentally, and yes, spiritually. Use this spell when you need to chill out a little, using the cool of winter to help you regain your own inner cool. If you want, you can even stand outside on a cold day and breath deep of the cold (or colder, depending on where you live) winter air.

Cooling, calming, winter air
Blow away fear and despair
Banish anger, calm my soul
Make my shattered spirit whole
Cool the fire that burns within
Slow the endless mental spin
Chill the season, chill I’ll be
Cloaked in winter’s harmony

A Fresh Start

Firstly...Happy New Year to all my followers! I hope 2016 brings you all
happiness, good health and prosperity!

It is never too late to give yourself a fresh start, and a new year is the
perfect time. We all have things we would like to put behind us, and
even though last Friday was New Years day, you can still take this first
week of 2016 as a time to give yourself a clean slate and a happier and
calmer mind. So here is a simple ritual for ridding yourself of any
negativity you maybe carrying with you from 2015 and encouraging
the positive into your life.

My Own Burning Ritual...Very Smoky!!

This is a simple burning ritual (be aware this can be smoky,
so you may be better performing this outside). All you need is two pieces
of paper, an envelope (white is fine), a pen, a heatproof dish and a charcoal
disc. If you want to give an extra kick, some black pepper, pine needles
and or myrrh (you could combine these in a pestle and mortar. Cutting the
pine needles up finely first). Do this on Saturday when we have the New
Moon. Write on one piece of paper all the negative things from 2015 you
wish to banish from your life and not carry with you in the new year. On
the other piece write your hopes and dreams for 2016. Seal this one in
the envelope and write something like “My dreams for 2016”.

Light your coal and allow to go white before you start burning.
Sit with this for a while, watching the coal change colour and think
about what you have written on the banishing paper. Say it out loud
if you wish. Now place this paper onto the hot coal and if you have some,
sprinkle some of your banishing mixture onto it. Say what ever you feel
in your heart as you watch it burn and add that you want 2016 to be a
better time, saying what you would like for this year. Whilst you are watching
the paper burn, hold the envelope containing your hopes to your heart thinking
nothing but positive thoughts.

Once the fire has burned down, place the heatproof container somewhere
safe too cool. Once the ashes are cool, bury them somewhere away from your
home. Traditional such things are buried at crossroads, but this isn't always
On or near your altar. You could maybe place it on your altar for Ostara as that
is when new life begins and it would give it extra positive energy.

Something from Deborah Blake...

I like now to add little bits from Deborah Blake. It seems to have become a tradition
when writing my weekly blog. So here’s spell to catch your breath after all the
commotion and madness of the holiday season.

Enjoy and have a blessed and loved week )O(

Going Inward

The holidays can be overwhelming, full of people and commotion. January’s cold
and quiet give us the perfect chance to catch our breath, going inward for a brief time
to reconnect with ourselves. Give yourself the gift of hibernation, using this spell to help
you go down deep where it is peaceful and quiet. Dim the lights and find a spot where
you can be undisturbed for five or ten minutes. Sit comfortably and light a white candle.
If you want, you can even wrap yourself in a comfortable blanket or shawl. Then say
this spell, close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths, going deeper inside with
each one. Ah...

Burrowing like the rabbit / Or the bear beneath the ground
The winter’s hush upon me / I do not make a sound
Let the world keep spinning / Without me for a space
I am turning inward / In search of peace and grace

Repeat as necessary.
